Defensive Driving Course

Defensive Driving Course

The Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce is offering a six (6) hour New York State Defensive Driving Course (DDC).

DDC is a comprehensive driver improvement program with a basic 6-hour curriculum offering practical knowledge and techniques to avoid crashes, and to choose safe, responsible and lawful driving behaviors.

After completing the course, you will receive a National Safety Council DDC Certificate of Completion which, depending on the situation, may make you eligible for point or insurance reduction but is not guaranteed.

Point reduction: DDC may allow you to receive up to a four (4) point reduction on your driving record with the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles. (May be taken once every 18 months for point reduction.)

Long-term savings: DDC may help you save money for three full years. Receive up to a 10% discount on your vehicle collision and liability insurance premiums each year for three years. This discount applies to the base rate of your automobile and motorcycle insurance premiums providing you are listed as the principal operator.

Location: Former Geneva Recreation Department Office, 666 S. Exchange Street (Next to the ice skating rink).

Cost: $40.00. Check, cash, money order or credit card accepted. No refunds are given.

Must pre-register and pre-pay! If you cannot attend the class for which you have registered, you must reschedule BEFORE the class. All classes must be completed within six months of application.
